Network Play

Unlike ARENA's hotseat gameplay, ARENAnet is completely network and internet-based! Battle friends across the hall or across the country with a simple connection interface. With an incredible new element of secrecy and tactics, ARENAnet will offer new and wonderful opportunities for war planning and tactical victory.

Neutral Armies

Roving bands have congregated around Adevon's gold mines. You'll need more than scouts to claim gold mines. Beware powerful demons and dragons as a computerized AI defends its territory to the death. Only with military might will you achieve economic success.

Redesigned Units

Those of you used to the ARENA units will be in for a great surprise. Of the twenty original ARENA units, only about half have made it to ARENAnet, and those that did are drastically changed. Units are now more detailed, with more powerful spells and abilities guaranteed to slice their ways through opposing forces.

Night and Day

While the battles in ARENA finished in a single day, ARENAnet battles last far longer. Turns now exist in the light of day and darkness of night. At night your units can't see as far as normal, and some even lose power. Yet others will use the cover of darkness to their advantage, disappearing into the black night.

Powerful Items

Perhaps you're familiar with the original ARENAnet map items, relics of a bygone day that augmented unit strength. Prepare for a redesigned world, where modern magical items are scattered along with the ancient weapons. You'll need to expect the unexpected as weak warriors transform into fearsome spellcasters and archers strike with incredible power and accuracy.

Game Statistics

With almost unlimited information, ARENA was mainly a battle of deployment. But ARENAnet's secrecy can convolute and mystify even the strongest of armies. Thus, at the end of each day, you'll get to view game statistics- the number of kills and total assets of all players, presented in a simple graphical format. It's ideal for the tactical player.
